Teachnology Blog #12

This post is from my own interest and is from T 1: Planning

Teachnology is a website for educators, it has lots of interactive games and resources for educators. While going through this website, one of the most valuable things I noticed and enjoyed looking into was the rubric creators. I never really thought about the importance of rubrics especially in the lower elementary classrooms. On the page with the rubrics there is a small article that goes over the importance of rubrics in all grades and education.

This website is a very good resource for teachers to use and explore when you have extra time. Every time I go to this website, I am finding something new to explore. It is full of so many new resources to find.

This is simple to use, with the tool bars on the side of the page you can maneuver very easy. This website does take you to external websites to get to these resources.

I find this website simple to use and very useful to use in the future in my classroom.

Trello Blog 11

This post is from my own interest and is from T 1: Planning

Trello is a platform that is advertised to be used for businesses to keep everything in one place. When I was exploring this website, I think it will be really great to use as a teaching tool. You can link your email and create lists for your classroom.

This can be useful organizational tip for teachers in their first especially as we are trying to get the hang of being a teacher on your own. Any tool that can be used to help organize is going to help make the school year better.

Trello is really simple to use, and they have different levels of memberships. They have a free tier that is very basic, but it allows you to keep the notes and link your email to the website to keep everything in one place. Trello is very simple to use, and they have lots of videos to and interactive pages to help guide you through the website. This is going to make teaching so much easier to organize the entire school year and your team better.

Pinterest Blog #10

This post is from my own interest and is from T 1: Planning

Pinterest is a tool that can be used to look for and share ideas for your classroom, and lessons. I want to focus on the lesson planning aspect of this website. I really love this platform; it is really easy to use and quick to find ideas. I spend a lot of time looking at all the fun interactive ideas that I dream of implementing into a classroom. When looking at the lesson plan books, there are some interactive activities to use to help bring the engagement up in the classroom.

This website is super easy to use and manipulate. It is full of super simple and easy to use activities for you to use in the classroom. This website is full of the creative ideas to help tie into your content of your classroom. As a teacher it is really important to meet the needs of your students and their learning abilities. By making sure that all of our students are understanding and getting the information they need to be successful.

Along with finding new activities you can also post and share your content to help out the other teachers in their classrooms. Not only is this going to help other teachers it is a good way to release some creativity.

This is a tool I have used in the past, and I will continue to use this as my career progresses.

Symbaloo Blog #9

This post is from my own interest and is from T 1: Planning

Symbaloo is website that organizing all our tabs, like bookmarking a tab on your tool bar on the web browser. When I first saw this, I thought what the point is I can do this on regular browser. The thing with this website is the customizations you can make to the website to organize all of your saved websites. This is super easy to use and can be shared with others or to different computers.

Another really cool feature to this website is the different tabs that are at the top of the page, it is another little tip for organization. To help keep the tabs better organized. You can add or delete the premade tabs that are already preloaded for you. When you create a new tab, you can start fresh or find an existing web mix already.

This website is super easy to use! I really like that this is completely customizable to your needs. It keeps all your websites in one place!  This will take some time to get used to and to get set up to what works best for you and your classroom.

This tool will best be used for organization in the classroom. With using so many new technologies and websites in our teaching this will help to access the websites faster and with more ease.

Kahoot

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically, Kahoot in the software list.

Kahoot is an easy-to-use full class quiz. On the students' computers they log into Kahoot with the classroom code you have created. The teacher puts the Kahoot screen on the projector and it goes through the quiz questions while the students answer the questions on their screens. Kahoot then creates a leader board for your class as you go through the questions. It is so fun an engaging to do and a great way to see where your students are with your content.

I think Kahoot best fits with the third event in the seven-event framework. Review, this can show you as the teacher where the students are in your content before they do their final assessment on the content. This could also work for the seventh event as well, assessing the lesson outcome. After you have completed the Kahoot, you can go and look at the reports from that Kahoot. This it will show you what students got which answers correct and incorrect. Kahoot will also offer you to create a new one with the difficult questions, these are the one majority of the class got incorrect. Kahoot is a great tool for reviewing and assessing your students.

Go Noodle

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Go Noodle in the software list.

Go Noodle is a super fun and easy to use software for the classroom. It is full of indoor recess activities, as well as interactive videos about educational content. This can be used at any level of education, I worked in an elementary school and my students favorite time was when we used go noodle for brain breaks, or for indoor recess. It is so interactive and engaging for the students.

This website is full of videos for all subject content, the videos are engaging and keeps the students wanting more. These videos are used to introduce the content to the students. This apart of the first event of the seven-event framework. This is the gaining attention to get the students excited about the new
content we are going to start working on.

You can access Go Noodle from the website, super easy and create an account. Or you can access this from YouTube.

Zoom

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Zoom in the software list.

Zoom is a very useful tool for meetings and for educational purposes. With the pandemic over the last few years, I am sure everyone knows about zoom, or something similar to it. Zoom is now a part of everyday life. Many people still offer meetings over zoom for the convince of not having to travel to attend a meeting.

Zoom is a team video calling software, to allow multiple people to meet and have conversations without being face to face. Zoom is very easy to use, and very straightforward. I still use zoom today for meetings with counselors and other professionals. I think Zoom can be a great tool especially for educators, to be able to hold parent teacher conferences with busy parents to help meet them where they are. This software can help lots of parents while trying to meet with their child's teachers.

Zoom was really helpful for during the pandemic so that course work could still go on while we were forced to stay home. I preferred the in-person classes, but it was beneficial for us to keep going with our education.

Within a classroom meeting in zoom, you can separate your students into break out groups, so they are still getting their one-on-one conversations with peers and interactions. This was really helpful to help gage the understanding of the students between each other.

This software is easy to use. It definitely had a little bit of a learning curve there in the beginning. I can see myself using this in my classroom to schedule meetings with parents or peers and being on a time crunch, zoom can help eliminate the travel time.

Zoom is an instructional technology; it is used for instructional purposes. To get information across to the students while using it for class. I would also consider this a collaborative technology as well, since it is used for meetings. A lot of the meetings it can be used for in the education world is to problem solve or relay information about a student to their parents or to a supportive peer.

Doc Camera

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically, Document cameras in the hardware list. Document cameras captures the real time image to display an object for a large audience. These are useful for teachers so they can give examples of their assignments to the whole class instead of doing this individually to each child. This is a really great tool for the classroom. There are three different types of document cameras.

Small light weight document cameras are transportable from classroom to classroom. This is one of the most common types of document cameras. This camera would be best for those who are on the go and need to bring a document camera with them for work.

A desktop document camera is the same things as the small lightweight one, it is very basic, but it much bulkier so it is harder to transport. This one is recommended for professionals who are stationary and do not need to bring their document camera with them. These two document cameras are used a lot for educational purposes, like education lectures, conferences, and an average sized meeting.

The final type of document camera is less common, it is a ceiling document camera. This is used to display large objects onto the board. They work the same way as the other two document cameras, it is just going to give the presenter more play with the size of object they want to display.

All of these will have a little bit of a learning curve while trying to get used to how they work. They are fairly simple to use just awkward at first. Document cameras are very user friendly and straight forward.

Document cameras are very useful for teacher to show the whole class how to do the assignment, as well as showing them all an object at one time. These can be used for all sorts of content and activities to show the entire class something. Document cameras fit into the fourth event in the seven-event framework. The fourth event is presenting the content. Document cameras will help make it easier on the teacher to show it to the entire class and not a few at a time.

This is a simple video to help get started with a large model document camera. It is very useful to help get used to the program of the document camera.
